WATER TURTLE



Basic Water Turtle Care
** Turtles are not ideal pets for children. They are not easy to care for, not great for handling, and in addition they often do harbor Salmonella bacteria which can be passed to the children who don't understand the need for careful hygiene.
** NEVER put tortoises or turtles outside in a glass aquarium. It could heat up like a greenhouse, and hatchlings can succumb to overheating very easily.
Lifespan: 30-40 years
** Recommended Floating Turtle Dock for basking area and for turtle to get out of water.
Housing: 50 gallon tank
Terrarium: Plants and hiding spots. Use hollowed logs for turtles to hide in under water.
Water: 10-11 inches deep or enough to cover turtle Water Temperature: 75-85°
** Recommended Turtle Tuff  a heavy duty "splash-proof" halogen lamp to protect lightbulbs.

Lighting: UV / UVB lighting
Heat: 100-115° for Basking area.
Heat: Infrared Heat Lamp (24 hour heat source)

Feed: ¾ meats. ¼ vegetables. Goldfish, worms, insects, mustard greens.

Calcium: Many food pellets carry Vitamin D3, if not you can give them the Calcium Bones.
